Echt een plaatje Ronald. Zonder twijfel is dit één van de beste foto’s die ik van de DP1 gezien heb. Gewoon een schitterende macro foto. Klasse man!

Ronald, that is an amazing photo. What a level of detail!! Beautifull and certainly not what one would initially be expecting from a DP1..

Cheers, Erik.

Roanald, may I ask, which flash did you use for this pic?

Thanks!

Hello Wouter and Erik,

Thanks for the comments, I was lucky this animal stayed there for a while, and I had the chance to take two shots and choose the sharpest. It is slighty cropped to fill the frame.

Used manual focus in this one, the screen of the dp1 can be enlarged around 5 times and then you simply set to closest manual focus using the smooth wheel on the back with your thumb. Then I just change the camera up and down a few centimeters or even smaller steps and then aquire focus in the most easy way!

see exif data for technical data!

I see a lot of 1/30 or even lower, of course due to the F4 of the lens, but it is so sharp and those times are easy to handheld ( i do not know why??, it is certainly easier (turns out sharper) then with my canon? It seems that the foveon sensor likes to swallow light.. :)

Again…

Sorry Erik, my first coffee of the morning did not yet reach my brain…

I did not read your question as you intended:

I used the internal flash of the dp1, without compensation (which can be set)

Again, I love the light on all of your pictures!

Ronald, thanks for your kind reply. Again, a really outstanding photo, this small sensor cameras are prooving to be very brave, and though for a few reasons the DP1 doesn´t seem like the camera I need/want, the Foveon sensor is really intriguing, I am really impressed with some of the results I am seeing. Please keep throwing us your “Foveon” stuff..

Best, Erik.

Great shot, you prove that the DP1 is indeed capable of doing excellent macros in the right hands. The Foveon sensor intrugues me but the DP1 is not yet the camera for me but maybe the DP2 or DP3 will be.
